AI and its progress

One of many purposes of AI is to make our experience better, to make everything easier, and most importantly, to make it addictive. We may or may not realize how we're slowly getting, increasingly, dependent on these machines. Many think that asking for help with one assignment couldn't possibly do much harm, but that's the point. The more we use it, the more we help it progress. This wouldn't exactly be a bad thing until we come to the fact that AI is rapidly improving and will, sooner or later, take over.

This is proven by the fact that employment rates have decreased significantly after the introduction of AI in different companies. Take an example, Civil engineers are being replaced by robots. We may think doctors are safe, but recent research has shown how robots can also perform surgeries, in fact, better than us humans. It isn't exactly surprising how artificial intelligence is EVERYWHERE. For instance, you open Instagram or WhatsApp and see "Meta AI" on the right of the search bars. The point is, that robots can do pretty much anything, be it small assignments or important surgeries.

AI is something the public has access to, regardless of who they are. I think AI should be used by people who would use it for a good purpose. However, due to this wide access, anyone can use it in a way they like. Concerningly, it is commonly used to make vulgar or inappropriate content because of which younger audience is exposed to unwanted content which isn't suitable for their age, being the main reason why each generation has a significant change.

It's important to note that we all know how to make better use of it. Being able to access it means it's up to us how we use it. It should, without a doubt, be used ethically. It can be helpful to people who are less privileged and do not have access to knowledge. If we use AI for our daily tasks, we shouldn't just be copying the words off the screen onto our notebooks or documents, but we should also learn something from it. The long explanations aren't there for us to skip but to understand.

AI is neither good nor bad. It's up to you if you want to use it for the former or the latter, all actions have consequences! So, the next time you use AI for your homework, ask yourself one question, "Am I making AI work for me, or am I working for it?".
